Security design features for Digital Security Printing

IQ-R

IQ-R technology delivers multilevel protection to standard 2-dimensional codes (most commonly QR and data matrix codes). It consists of different layers (clusters) of the data visually appearing as one single code.

Public layer is readable by all commercial and industrial readers. It is used for interoperability between systems and for track & trace purposes.
Hidden layers are readable only by dedicated reading application. One of the hidden layers contains high quality dynamic copy protection.

VTS

Generator takes provided serialized data and creates unique wave structure and fills the same data into the waves. Reading application extracts the same data from the encrypted and hidden layer of IQ-R code, regenerates wave structure and compares photo of the printed image with the calculated waves. The characters that are placed in waves, are to be compared manually by the user with the visually printed data or the data displayed on the screen.

Group of features under the name IVI – Invisible Variable information, they all serve the same purpose: To store the same serialization data multiple times, to make counterfeiters or forgers life very difficult.
In order to implement the feature, the halftone-based background will be used.
The authenticity of the data is compared by the smartphone with the data from the IQ-R code or it can be compared by the user with the visually printed data on the product itself.

Invisible Dynamic Image. A primary image visible to a naked eye holds secondary (hidden) information can be revealed after the element is overlapped by a special decoding lens or after checking the same area by a smartphone with dedicated app.

UV fluorescent Invisible Dynamic Information. A primary image that can be seen only under UV light holds secondary information that can be seen after a decoding lens is overlapped. Depending on angle of observation, you can get two different information.

CI

Coded information – feature is blockchained with IQ-R. Encrypted data is stored in the IQ-R and a corresponding set of images is printed in the defined place in the design. Glenisys app can extract and decrypt the data from IQ-R code and display the expected images. User can check if they match up with the printed ones.

(UV)CI

UV Coded Information – feature is blockchained with IQ-R. Encrypted data is stored in the IQ-R and a corresponding set of images is printed with UV fluorescent ink. Glenisys app can extract and decrypt the data from IQ-R code and display the expected images. User with the hand of UV light and the displayed images on the screen of smartphone can check if they match up with the printed ones.
