Jura offers security printing solutions for the digital printing market, with innovative technology to protect a wide range of products. Hp and Corvina workflows apply to HP and Corvina solutions respectively, while Digital Printing Solutions apply to any other digital printing machine.

Workflow for HP Indigo Presses

Required hardware:

  • HP Indigo printer
  • Computer for DFE
  • Computer for Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign
  • DSD Hardware dongle

Required software:

  • DFE Application for HP Indigo printer
  • Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign
  • SmartStream Designer
  • SmartStream Composer
  • Jura Digital Security Printing Generators - plugins for SmartStream Designer and SmartStream Composer
  • Project related digital elements:
  • GSSL License(s)
  • Database (CSV file)
  • Input images for features

Process steps/workflow:

  • Generating/importing single design to Illustrator/InDesign
  • Defining/assigning VDP (personalized) design areas/features
  • Prepare database (CSV file)
  • In SmartStream Designer run feature(s) editors
  • Exporting HPD package from SmartStream Designer
  • Importing HPD to SmartStream Composer
  • Creating imposition & merging singles with database
  • Running Composer Job
  • Submitting to print

Workflow for Jura’s Corvina Design Application Users

Required hardware:

  • Digital printing machine 600 dpi or over
  • Computer for DFE
  • Computer for Corvina Application
  • DSD Hardware dongle

Required software:

  • DFE Application for the digital printing machine
  • Corvina software
  • Digital Printing module as part of Corvina software
  • Project related digital elements:
  • GSSL License(s)
  • Database (CSV file)
  • Input images for features

Process steps/workflow:

  • Generating/importing single design. It can be done in any commercial application but also in Corvina
  • Defining/assigning VDP (personalized) design areas/features
  • Prepare database (CSV file)
  • In Corvina run feature(s) editors
  • Generate features/images (per feature/design)
  • Creating imposition & merging singles with database
  • Exporting printing ready PDF

Workflow for Digital Printing Solutions

Required hardware:

  • Digital printing machine 600 dpi or over
  • Computer for DFE
  • Computer for Corvina Application
  • DSD Hardware dongle

Required software:

  • DFE Application for the digital printing machine
  • 3rd party imposition application/workflow with VDP functionalities (e.g. Adobe InDesign)
  • Jura feature generators
  • Project related digital elements:
  • GSSL License(s)
  • Database (CSV file)
  • Input images for features

Process steps/workflow:

  • Generating single design. It can be done in any commercial application.
  • Prepare database (CSV file)
  • Creating Output database (csv)
  • Editing .bat file (using Notepad)
  • Running batch process (per feature)
  • Generate features (TIF images or PDF files)
  • Creating imposition & merging singles
  • Exporting printing ready files
