This Symposium will benefit a wide range of stakeholders across various States, including relevant national entities such as passport issuing authorities, civil registry offices, border control and law enforcement agencies, aviation security and public health authorities, airport and airline operators, as well as other key stakeholders involved in traveler identity and border management.

The Symposium will center on the advancement of Machine Readable Travel Document (MRTD) technologies to support more seamless and efficient traveler mobility. With a strong focus on innovation and the use of cutting-edge technologies, the discussions will explore strategies to improve electronic Machine Readable Travel Document (eMRTD) solutions, enabling more contactless travel experiences.

Key digital advancements—such as the ICAO Digital Travel Credentials (DTC) and the implementation of interoperable 2D barcodes aligned with the ICAO Datastructure for Barcode (IDB), including their application in Digital Travel Authorizations (DTA)—will be prominently featured.
